I have some advice for Soul of Steel:Please, please, fire your current vocalist and replace him with someone who can actually sing. God, I hate when this happens to me, where even with warnings I check out an album, and actually disagree about the overall music, but a bad vocalist comes in and almost ruins everything. See, musically this is perfectly acceptable Power Metal. In fact, at times the music is really good, especially the guitars and drums, some of the melodies and solos are quite excellent (and often remind me of another, more famous band with the same album name), and even with the bad vocals, the songs Till the End of Time, Endless Night, and Wings of Fire are actually fairly enjoyable. The problem is the ballads, which are just completely unlistenable, because the vocalist has the following problems:Forgettable voice, constantly out of tune, annoying accent, no emotion, and his pronunciations are so bad, I often can't figure out what he's trying to say.
So yeah, I can't really tell you what I think of this album, because the band has potential to be very solid (if not very innovative or inspiring), but that vocalist just sucks. I guess I can say it's decent, listenable Power Metal, but it should be way better, and is only recommended if you absolutely need new Power Metal while waiting for something good to come out.
