It could be because of our upbringing, in something that happened in our past or for so many other reasons but wherever it comes from it colours everything that we do. Sometimes we push away the good things in life because we don't always feel like we deserve them. By doing this exercise everyday, we can know we are loved and we will feel like a lovable person who deserves everything we want. Each day you’ll feel more and more loved and more and more lovable and this automatically makes you a more loving person. Feeling loved makes you realise the goodness within yourself, and that goodness is who you really are, your real self. Feeling love makes you feel your oneness. Now, lie on the floor, or your bed, without a pillow. Just lie there and close your eyes. Totally relax. Remember emotionally what it was like when someone really loved you. Whether it was your Mum, your Dad, your husband, your girlfriend or even your cat or your best mate it doesn’t matter who as long as you remember the feeling of being loved and the wonderful physical glow, warmth and open feeling of someone truly loving you. This can take real concentration so completely relax… be still…. and go back in time to remember being held by your Mum or hugged by your Dad… or praised by someone in your family or friendship circles. You might remember lying on the beach as a child or running in an open field, with the sun shining, seeing your Mum or Dad or Grandparents and feeling secure and warm and loved with them sitting nearby. It doesn't matter how you recapture the feeling of being loved, as long as something in your past warms you and opens you up emotionally in its memory. When you start to feel this warm feeling smile, sit back and say to yourself, "life adores me" and then smile bigger and keep that feeling of openness and warmth.
